Over the past few years, I have played a role in spearheading healthcare symposiums and health fairs to circulate information and resources to people in my community. This has set me on the path to building connections with physicians and other healthcare workers.
Breast Cancer Symposium
- Contacted various health professionals to acquire various perspectives on the breast cancer diagnosis and treatment process
- Worked with Northside ISD to select a venue for the event
- Crafted candy packages and sold them to students to fundraise for the symposium
- Publicized the event through social media platforms and local news networks
- Increased awareness of breast cancer in students across the district and connected with experienced physicians
- Contacted about 10 health professionals to acquire various perspectives on the breast cancer diagnosis and treatment process
Health Fair
- Designed flyers to publicize and encourage participation
- Connected 100+ low-income families within Northside ISD to free healthcare resources, such as tests, screenings, and samples
- Contacted various vendors and medical specialists and acquired sponsorships for the event

- Acquired sponsorships from vendors to fund the event
- Contacted private practices and health clinics for samples
- Utilized a community pavilion for the venue
- Advertised through flyers and community outreach
